Addie Pendants from Kim E.

About eight years ago a friend of mine showed me my first Ballard catalog and I fell in love.  But alas I was just starting my career and we were living in our “starter” house.  Two years ago we
moved into a home built in 1926 and decided to renovate for a modern farmhouse look.  For months I have poured over the catalogs, “dog earring” almost every page with items I wanted.  My first purchase was these Addie Pendant lights for our kitchen.  We love them!  They go with our open bright space and bring a modern but yet traditional feel to the kitchen.  Hope you like them as much as we do!  I plan on asking Santa for several items out of the new catalog!

I am so jealous. You have my dream kitchen! You did an amazing job with the counters, cabinets and storage above the refrigerator that makes it look like a built in high end refrig. Just one comment though, keep the counters uncluttered,I like to use the three appliance rule, hide everything else.

Your kitchen is so beautiful! I love the timeless look, classic colors, glass doors on the cabinets and, especially, the lighted cabinets above the windows. Great choice putting similar bowls in them. The Addie pendants couldn’t be more perfect. It’s all brilliant! Well done, Kim!

Beautiful. I love Ballard Designs, too. Another comment about counter top clutter: someone told me never to leave a butcher block full of knives on the counter. They are ready to grab weapons if, God forbid, someone should ever break in. I thought this was good advice.

It is a wonderful start but it is icy cold to look at. The warm glow from these perfect pendants is something to build on. Give me some color, some fruit in a wooden bowl,an orchid with green moss or fresh herbs in French or Tuscan pottery. Maybe some ivy or grape vines in the top niches.Go for colored glassware or woven wood blinds on the window. Remember your Ying and Yang. You have the cool, crisp, hard surfaces of stone and glass. Now give us mouth watering apple pie on the counter with a bottle of dessert wine and two rustic golblets. I’ll be right over.

Hi Kim — we have purchased three of the addie pendant lights to hang over a 72″ prairie table. Could you tell me how close you hung those three lights over your counter? Thanks!

Just beautiful as is. The pendants are perfect! Congratulations.

Keep your stuff on the counter. I hate this trend toward having a place that looks like no one lives there. Maybe add some wonderful, fairly large porcelain piece…like a big, white rooster or an over-sized bowl with fruit in it–all one piece of good white porcelain. Add me to the list of people who like this kitchen. This is the most beautiful I’ve recently seen. Great job!
