“Ballard Designs Home” from Rebecca

Dear Style Studio:

Here are some pictures of my home. It is really a Ballard Designs home as just about every room has something from Ballard in it. I just love looking through your catalog and get a lot of design ideas from them.

Sincerely,
Rebecca M.

Ballard SunroomThe Sunroom

My sunroom is filled with treasures from Ballard Designs. The sofa and club chairs are from the Vintage Vogue Collection. I wanted furniture that was really comfortable, but I also needed furniture that would be easy to care for in this sun-filled room and able to accommodate two active kids. The fact that the sofa and chairs are slipcovered makes them low maintenance, as well as child friendly. Having more than one set of slips allows me to change the look of the room without spending a fortune.

The Tufted Leather Storage Ottoman provides extra seating as well as much needed toy storage. The Grande Tour Étagère adds height without being obtrusive and it really showcases my collection of family mementos. The mixture of wicker and wood tables makes the room feel more relaxed. The Key West Wicker Table is large enough for the morning paper and endless cups of coffee, while the Benedetta Side Tables are perfect on either end of the sofa but can be pulled into the room when guests arrive.

Ballard Family RoomThe Family Room

Warm and cozy is the feel. The Ballard Paris Sofa, Chair and Ottoman are soft and supple and yet extremely durable. Spills just wipe off, allowing my kids to be kids.

The Morgan Cocktail Table with baskets storage is my hiding place for a wide variety of toys and whatnot. With a fire in the fireplace and a movie on the television it is a great place to spend a weekend.

Movie over – close the media cabinet – now all the electronics are hidden from sight. The occasional chairs are also from Ballard and provide extra seating for guests without taking up too much space. The family room is truly the heart of my home.

Ballard Breakfast RoomThe Breakfast Room

With a growing family, the breakfast room does double duty: family meals as well as homework central. The Chianni Trestle Table seems to handle it all.

The Parsons Chairs at either end are comfortable enough to linger over a lazy Sunday brunch. I also purchased additional slipcovers and change them whenever the mood strikes giving the room a whole new look.

The Branly Corner Etagere is one of those pieces that I can’t do without. It was made for that corner, and the black wrought iron compliments the chandelier.

Ballard Entry

Busy Walkway

I really needed some place to put my keys and cell phone (nothing too big though) as the walkway to the kitchen is narrow and pretty busy. Ballard’s Exmoor Console was just the piece. It is only 11” deep, so it fits perfectly and I’m amazed at the storage space. What a great little console!

Ballard Office

Home Office Solution

I needed a bookcase to house some of my reference material and found the Sonoma Bookcase. It had to sit right next to a window, but I didn’t want it to block out the light. The airiness of the Sonoma Bookcase works perfectly. The open sides let the light shine through. It is a substantial piece without looking like one. I even have space for some of my favorite things!
