“My New Beach House” from Julie

Julie loves the Ballard look and price!

Here are photos of my new beach house in Longboat Key, FL. The mirrors, the sawhorse bookcases, the baskets, the flower pots and so many other accessories and ideas throughout
the house are pure Ballard Designs.
The UPS man delivered so many Ballard boxes that he wanted to know if we owned the store. You are my favorite retailer and I truly appreciate your knack for offering great looking flair at a reasonable cost.

What a gorgeous room! This one deserves to be in your catalog :)

  2. Marie M Says:

What a great room! I am waiting for our town house in Jupiter, Fl to be built & Ballard’s is my design inspiration.

  3. Melissa M Says:

Love this look! Exactly what I want for my new beach house.
May I ask what colour you used on the walls?

  4. Erin Says:

Love your room, I am inspired. I was also wondering what color you used for the walls. I like it because it is not blue, like so many other “beach-inpired” rooms are. Thanks!

Hi Erin and Melissa, I’m happy you like our house. We used Sherwin Williams Ivorie (a pale khaki) on most of the walls and Loyal Blue in the dining room as an accent. It’s more nautical than beachy, a nod to our New England heritage.

Oh my WORD! What a fabulous home! Please share where you found those rugs – love them both, especially the natural rug with striped border!!! Thanks so much!

  7. Julie Flaherty Says:

Hi Caryn, it’s so nice of you to comment on our house. It’s so comfortable that we just melt every time we walk into it. The wool sisal rug is from Pottery Barn and the striped rug is from a company called Aspen Carpet Designs.

You did a beautiful job decorating! Gorgeous! I love Ballard Designs too!!!

I like it, the only thing missing is a palm plant to make it look tropical.

Hey Julie, want to adopt me? My dream is to have a beach house one day, and you captured the look I adore. Not over the top beach/seaside, but just the right look of beachy comfort and sophistication. You did an outstanding job, and if you aren’t a decorator, you should be!

Charming, charming, charming. I love the way you interpreted your theme without going overboard (no pun intended!). Makes me want to go on vacation! Great job decorating!

WOW!!! I wouldn’t change a thing! Gorgeous in every way.

I, too love the color on your walls. I didn’t even realize at first why I preferred your beach-look over others I have viewed. I think the wall color must be the difference. Your decor is inspiring.

  15. Amy Jo Says:

I love how this is so different from many rooms put together with Ballard. You have chosen wonderful colors. It doesn’t seem as ‘cozy’ as most Ballard inspired rooms…and I think that that is why I love it. It is so open and airy, yet extremely inviting! I would love to spend my vacation here!
